Ministry of Foreign Affairs failed to bring the killer of the father of actress Maham Amjad back to Pakistan from United Arab Emirates, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A two-member bench of the Sindh High Court summoned the Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in actress Maham’s father murder case on Tuesday.
Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and Justice Kausar Sultana Hussain heard the case.
However, the court could not be satisfied by the officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The SHC ordered the additional secretary to appear in the court with a complete progress report in the next hearing.
The Ministry of Interior had also written a letter to the Foreign Secretary last month to intervene in the matter.
The Interior Ministry had also requested diplomatic efforts for extradition of accused Taqi Haider Shah from UAE to Pakistan.
The Ministry of Interior has provided all the required documents to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs twice.
The Interior Ministry also wrote in the letter that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should provide the required documents for the extradition of Qutaqi Haider Shah to the UAE.
Interpol has already issued a red notice for accused Taqi Haider Shah, revealed the letter.
The letter further revealed that there is an extradition agreement between Pakistan and the UAE as Taqi Haider Shah is wanted in the murder of Mohammad Ahmad Amjad on 26 August 2008.
Actress Mahim Amjad traced her father's killer on social media.
Talking to 24News TV channel, Maham Amjad said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani Embassy in UAE are working diligently on the issue.
The Embassy is not cooperating at all with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs while Foreign Ministry is hiding the documents, she said.
