A Russian delegation comprising Russian Deputy Minister for Energy and Deputy Minister for Economic Development Aleksei Gruzdev held a meeting with a Pakistani delegation led by Minister for Petroleum Musadik Malik in Islamabad on Thursday and discussed matters of mutual interest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Speaking on the occasion, Musadik Malik said Pakistan values relations with Russia. He said Pakistan-Russia partnership in energy sector is important.
The Russian delegation was appreciative of the beauty of Islamabad.
Both the sides affirmed to work together in the area of energy and for mutual development.
Earlier, the Russian minister said Moscow is keen to offer expertise in modernizing Pakistan's fertilizer plants and provide training programmes for Pakistani farmers to enhance agricultural productivity.
This was stated by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Aleksei Gruzdev during his meeting with Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan in Islamabad.
During the meeting, the discussion focused on strengthening economic cooperation and exploring new trade opportunities between the two countries.
The Russian Deputy Minister highlighted Russia's interest in expanding exports of agricultural and railway machinery, as well as metal products, to Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Jam Kamal Khan highlighted the significant untapped potential in Pakistan-Russia trade.
The upcoming 5th Joint Working Group meeting, scheduled for 26th of this month in Islamabad, was also discussed.
