Senior Sindh Minister and PPP leader Sharjeel Inam Memon on Thursday said that the PTI was a ‘social media terrorist’, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking to reporters in Karachi, Sharjeel said it was the parliament’s job to introduce amendments in the constitution. “There was a mention of amendments in the Charter of Democracy as well,” he said, and added, “It has been PPP’s stance that the constitution should be amended after taking all parties in the parliament on board.”

“The 18th Amendment was also passed after a consensus was developed between the parties,” he recalled.

Sindh senior minister said it should be borne in mind that these amendments were not against the constitution.

He was of the view there was no harm in talking to the PTI on the subject.

He said that the PTI had indulged in maligning Army Chief General Asim Munir and the chief justice of Pakistan. “We can respond to their hate campaign.”

Sharjeel accused the PTI leaders of blackmailing the state institutions to seek an NRO for their incarcerated leader Imran Khan and ultimately his release.

He said efforts were still being made to convince JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to support the amendments proposed by the ruling coalition. “If he understands our point of view, he will definitely support us,” he hoped.

The minister said it was unfortunate that the Afghan Consul General’s officials did not rise from their seats at a ceremony held in Peshawar while the national anthem was being played. “KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur ought to have asked them to stand up,” he opined.
