The Sindh government has decided to impose a smart lockdown in the Kemari district for the next two weeks due to an increase in coronavirus cases, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A notification has been issued in this regard and the smart lockdown will be applicable from 12 midnight tonight for the next two weeks.
Smart lockdowns have been imposed in seven union councils (UCs) hotspots of Covid-19, where the coronavirus cases ratio is comparatively higher than the other localities of Karachi.
Kemari is located on Karachi’s harbour and home to the majority of fishermen and best known for its fish market.
In the last 24 hours (Tuesday), Sindh reported 730 new cases of COVID-19 taking the tally to 274,196 and three patients breathed their last battling the deadly virus taking the tally to 4,559, according to the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).
