Chef Zakir Qureshi passes away at 58

Celebrated Pakistani chef Zakir Qureshi has passed away at the age of 58.

Born in 1967, Chef Zakir was a beloved figure in the culinary world, known for his contributions to Pakistani and international cuisine. He was suffering from a kidney disease and was undergoing dialyses these days.

Chef Samia shared the news of his death.

A heartfelt post on Instagram by Fariha Meraj read:

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون
We are deeply saddened to share that Chef Zakir Hussain, one of Pakistan’s most renowned culinary legends, has passed away. His legacy in the world of cooking will forever be remembered. May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah. Rest in peace, Chef Zakir Sahab.

Chef Zakir rose to fame through his television appearances on Hum TV’s cooking channel Masala TV, where he hosted popular live cooking shows. Over the years, he taught thousands of recipes to home cooks and food enthusiasts, earning a devoted fanbase across Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and beyond.

An expert in both traditional Pakistani dishes and international cuisine, Chef Zakir became a household name and a source of inspiration for aspiring chefs.

Following the news of his passing, fans and followers have taken to social media to express their grief, offering prayers for his forgiveness and eternal peace. Many have also extended heartfelt condolences to his family, honoring his enduring legacy in the culinary world.

FUNERAL PRAYERS

Chef Zakir’s funeral prayers will be offered at Jamia Rashidia, Malir, Saudabad, Karachi after Asr prayers on Tuesday. He will be buried at Saudabad Graveyard.
