Numbers of out-of-school children in Punjab reaches over 7.6 million

As many as 76,48,272 children are out of schools in Punjab, according to a survey conducted by Pakistan Social Standards Measurement, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The report stated that in Lahore 7,18,199 children aged between five to sixteen years are out of school while vacancies of 17 teachers are lying vacant in Government Sheikh Sardar Girls Higher Secondary School Garhi Shahu.

The report revealed that there is no Girls School established in PP-150 constituency.

In a written reply to a question by MPA Rahila Khadim, Punjab Education department said that 126 boys school are running  sans science teacher.

The statistics released after a report compiled by Pakistan Social Standards Measurement Survey released.

The report revealed that in Punjab a teacher is available for 37 primary class students while 1 for 31 students of middle class and for1 for 25 students of secondary and 39 students for higher secondary school is deputed.

Education department of Punjab said that 72,162 students are currently out of schools in Raiwind.

As many as 47 vacancies of teachers lying vacant in Sheikh Sardar Higher Secondary School and only 30 teachers are performing their duties for 820 students from sixth class to class twelveth class.

In reply to a question by MPA Mohammad Zahid Ismail said that Punjab government imposed ban on appointment of fresh teachers as soon as the ban will be lifted all the vacant posts will be fulfilled.
