The Sindh High Court on Friday sought replies from the federal and provincial governments, interior secretary, information ministry and others on the transmission of an FM radio channel of Aakash Vani in Tharparkar district, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Earlier, a lawyer, Mureed Ali Shah, had filed a petition against the illegal transmission of FM 106.5, which prompted the court to seek a detailed report by September 17.

According to the petitioner, Pakistan has banned the transmission/airing of Indian TV and radio channels, but the FM 106.5 can be heard in the region.

He said the Hindu community was in majority in six talukas of the district, adding that Indian TV and radio channels had been involved in venomous anti-Pakistan propaganda.

Seeking the court orders to block the radio channel, the petition says the transmission has not been stopped despite the fact that letter were written to the interior and information ministries.
