Imran Khan booked over hate-mongering, remarks against state organs

Former prime minister Imran Khan has been booked for threatening a magistrate and two top cops in a rally he took out in the federal capital against the arrest of his party leader Shehbaz Gill facing charges of passing 'harmful and seditious statements', the 24NewsHD TV channel reported.

The Margalla Police registered a case against the former premier on charges of hate-provoking speech in a bid to disrupt the peace. 

According to FIR, he hurled threats at the state organs and attempted to mount pressure on the judiciary and the police. 

"He hurled threats at the Islamabad IG, a women magistrate, and DIG during the rally," it added.

Imran Khan has been booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).
