Army troops press ahead with large-scale relief operation for flood-hit Kasur people

Large-scale relief operations of the Pakistan Army for the flood-hit people in Kasur continue, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

Several areas of Kasur including Ganda Singhwala, Dhup Sari, Attari, Ghati Kalingar, Aulake, Jumewala, Kamalpura, Bakarke and Najabat were affected by recent floods.

“Throughout the day, thousands of people were evacuated from the flood-hit areas and moved to safer places,” the army sources said.

“Rescue teams of the Pakistan Army were engaged in rescue activities through boats. Apart from this, around 16 tonnes of free ration was also distributed to thousands of affected families,” they added.

“Ration packs include essential food items including flour, pulses, rice, ghee and milk. The distribution of ration continued at Talwar Pul, Thatti Bakshi and Najabat points,” they stated.

“Along with this, adequate medical assistance was also arranged for the flood-hit people. These relief operations will continue until the flood situation improves and normal life is restored,” they added.

Meanwhile, a youth drowned in the Indus River near Layyah while filming a video for TikTok.

Shakil, a resident of Ladhana, was filming a video for TikTok in the river with his friend near Layyah-Taunsa Bridge when he went into the deep water and drowned.

The video of the youth making the TikTok video has also surfaced.
