Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Sunday reiterated the culprits of the Jaranwala tragedy will be punished in accordance with the law, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
While talking to members of the peace committee at Jamia Masjid Sabri in Jaranwala, the CM appreciated the efforts of the members for restoring peace after the sad incident in Jaranwala.
The chief minister met scholars of all schools of thought and expressed solidarity with personalities from other religions on the occasion.
Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi vowed that strict action would be taken against the responsible for the incident.
Naqvi lamented that the incident had tarnished the image of Quaid-e-Azam's peaceful Pakistan. Islam teaches good behavior towards minorities, he said, adding that we all have to heal the sufferings of the Christian community together.
Punjab Chief Secretary, IGP Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary Home, and other officials were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Punjab Chief Minister along with the provincial ministers visited the relief camp at Danish School Jaranwala. He met the victims and showed affection to the children.
Mohsin Naqvi also assured them to provide justice and redress the damage.
Punjab Chief Minister said Christians will soon find their places of worship to their original condition.
“The Punjab government is with the affected families and will continue to stand with them, he concluded.
