Cabinet okays PM Skills Development Company

Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a meeting of the federal cabinet at Prime Minister House in Islamabad.


The cabinet was briefed on the recent decision of the Supreme Court regarding the Mubarak Sani case. It was told that an additional petition was filed in the Supreme Court on August 17 on the instructions of the Prime Minister.


There was a detailed discussion in the National Assembly regarding this case and the matter was referred to the Standing Committee on Law and Justice of the National Assembly, the cabinet was told.


In the meeting of the Standing Committee on Law and Justice of the National Assembly, the government and the opposition parties unanimously decided that the National Assembly would instruct the federal government that the Supreme Court would review the factual and legal aspects of the case and the opinion of the scholars and an application should be filed on behalf of the government


According to the instructions of the Prime Minister, the Attorney General will appear in the hearing of the revision petition in the Supreme Court on the 22nd of August and along with his team will give arguments in the light of the opinion of the Ulama and the Standing Committee on Law and Justice of the National Assembly.


On the recommendation of the Ministry of Commerce, the Federal Cabinet approved the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Commerce of Pakistan on the promotion of cooperation in the field of electronic commerce (e-commerce).


The Federal Cabinet approved the establishment of the Prime Minister's Skills Development Company under the National Commission for Technical and Vocational Training in light of Section 42 of the Companies Act 2017 on the recommendation of the Ministry of Federal Education and Vocational Training.


The establishment of the above company is to collect funds for technical and vocational training, fund management and implementation of various training programs under this fund.


In the light of the Prime Minister's directive, the National Commission for Technical and Vocational Training is being set up to separate the operational and regulatory affairs of this company, after which the Prime Minister's Skill Development Company for Technical and Vocational Training is being established. will look after the operational matters of training while the National Commission for Technical and Vocational Training will look after the regulatory matters


The Federal Cabinet has approved handing over the operations of King Hamad University of Nursing and Associated Medical Sciences to the National University of Medical Sciences on the recommendation of the Ministry of National Health. A memorandum of understanding will be signed between the Ministry of National Health and the Ministry of Defense in this regard
