A mentally-challenged woman sustained serious burns as a fake spiritual healer subjected her to viciousness in the name of her treatment, 24Newsh HD TV channel reported on Tuesday.
The accused is identified as Shamim while the victim is named Sonia Bibi. The incident took place in the Faisalabad district of Punjab.
The accused placed the head of the victim on a heater after locking down the door.
As soon as the victim’s relatives heard her cries, they rushed her to Allied Hospital.
The victim sustained serious burn marks while the relatives hid the fact on the instruction of the accused. The accused told the relatives that all is part of treatment and escaped.
Police registered a case and launched a hunt for the accused.
