While vehemently condemning the terrorist activities in Bannu and other areas, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Wednesday vowed to crush any attempt aiming to spread chaos in Pakistan through terrorism, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a statement, the prime minister said that terrorism was a sensitive issue of national security, adding that collective thinking and an action plan were needed [to control terrorism].

“The state will not bow down to any terrorist group or organisation. Terrorists will be dealt with according to the Constitution and law,” he affirmed.

“The federal government will also address foreign facilitation to the terrorists and the sanctuaries of them. The entire nation will end terrorism along with its brave forces,” he vowed.

The prime minister also paid tribute to the spirit and determination of the forces fighting against terrorism. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and directed best treatment facilities for them.

“The sacrifices of the martyrs will not be allowed to go in vain. Operations Radd-ul Fasaad and Zarb-e-Azb were important measures to end terrorism. The great sacrifices of the officers and jawans of the armed forces, police, rangers and other law enforcement agencies cannot be forgotten,” he averred.

“Maintaining law and order is primarily the responsibility of the provinces, but the federal government cannot turn a blind eye to serious problems. We will work together with the provinces to end terrorism,” he added.

“The National Action Plan (NAP) will be fully implemented to end terrorism. Increasing the capacity and efficiency of provincial governments is important in the eradication of terrorism,” he pointed out.

“The federal government will assist in improving the professional capacity of counter-terrorism forces and departments in the provinces,” he added.

“We will work on the reconstruction of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). All the needs of our forces will be met, and they will be supplied modern weapons and provided professional training,” he reaffirmed vow.
