Amjad Ali Khan, a former member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Mianwali, has announced his resignation from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Wednesday.
In a video statement, Khan said he was leaving the party due to his dissatisfaction with the events of May 9, when PTI workers clashed with police in Lahore.
He also said he was unable to contest the upcoming elections due to his ill health.
Khan has been in jail for the last two months on charges of corruption and misuse of authority.
