Accepting the police’s request, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Gujranwala on Thursday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 51 PTI leaders in the case of vandalism and arson attack on Gujranwala Cantonment on May 9, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The court also directed the police to submit a report on December 23 for further action in the case.
Police officials told the court that the PTI leaders fearing arrests were hiding.
Hundreds of people took to streets in different cities of the country, including Gujranwala, following the arrest of their leader, former prime minister and ex-PTI chairman Imran Khan on May 9.
They vandalized and torched government buildings and military installations besides damaging the memorials of Pakistan Army’s martyrs.
The incidents of violence left the nation in shock.
