A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking the disqualification of former prime minister Shehbaz Sharif, Khawaja Asif, Sherry Rehman and others for making anti-judiciary speeches in Parliament, reported 24NewsHd TV channel Wednesday.
The petition, filed by Advocate Azhar Siddique, states that the above-mentioned persons discussed matters related to the judiciary in Parliament, which is a violation of the Constitution and the oath of office.
The petition also names the Federation of Pakistan and the Election Commission as respondents and requests the court to take action against the alleged violators under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution, which deals with the eligibility of members of Parliament.
