Syed Shahid Muzaffar, the coordinator of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi, was arrested by the police on Wednesday from the Multan court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He had come to collect the nomination papers of Qureshi's son Makhdoom Zain Hussain Qureshi and daughter Mehr Bano Qureshi, who are contesting the upcoming elections from Multan.
The reason for his arrest is not yet clear, but sources said that he was wanted in some cases registered against him by the police.
PTI has condemned the arrest and called it a political victimization by the ruling party.
