The Fatima Jinnah Medical University's (FJMU) Annual International Scientific Conference-2024 concluded in a spectacular grand gala dinner, hosted under the patronage of VC Prof Khalid Masood Gondal. 

This celebratory evening marked the culmination of a conference highlighting cutting-edge advancements in medical sciences, artificial intelligence, and healthcare innovation.

The event was graced by prominent figures, including chief guests Prof Shoaib Shafi, president of the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP), and Lt Gen Khalid Maqbool, the former governor of Punjab. 

Guests of honor included parliamentary secretary for health Madam Rushda Lodhi, KEMU VC Prof Mahmood Ayaz, and former FJMU VC Prof Aamir Zaman Khan. 

The evening’s program was hosted by Prof Aisha Malik and Prof Bilquis Shabbir.

In his opening remarks, Dr Khalid Masood Gondal warmly welcomed the distinguished attendees and expressed his gratitude to the Alumni Association of Fatima Jinnah Medical College for their efforts in representing Pakistan internationally.

Prof Shoaib Shafi lauded CPSP's achievements in advancing medical education and fostering global collaborations. 

He noted the international training of CPSP residents in countries such as England, Ireland, and Nepal and celebrated the recognition of sub-specialties like emergency medicine, gastroenterology, neonatology, pulmonology, and preventive medicine. 

Additionally, he highlighted CPSP’s successful organization of international convocations.

 Lt Gen Khalid Maqbool praised the conference centered on Artificial Intelligence. 

He emphasized the importance of serving the nation through excellence in healthcare. 

Similarly, KEMU VC Prof Mahmood Ayaz congratulated the FJMU team for their exceptional collaboration in hosting this landmark event.

Prof Aamir Zaman Khan, former vice chancellor FJMU, commended the university’s remarkable progress under Prof Gondal’s leadership, highlighting advancements in medical education, research, and healthcare delivery.

The evening featured a special poetry recital by renowned poet Zahid Fakhri, whose eloquent verses captivated the audience. 

The event concluded with the presentation of honorary shields to distinguished guests and the awarding of gold medals to exceptional students in extracurricular activities, including Ms. Amna Malik, Ms. Alishba Iftikhar, Ms. Azka Ayaz, Ms. Hira Saleem, and Ms. Ayesha Saeed.
