Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the country is out of the woods and many positive news would be announced soon.

Imran Khan was in Layyah on Friday for the inauguration of the Ehsas Asset Transfer programme. While addressing the people present there, Imran Khan said that he congratulates the masses for the success of this programme, adding that no society can progress that does not make efforts to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor.

The PM said that Ehsas programme is the first major endeavour in the history of Pakistan to lift people from the bottom of poverty.

Unfolding a novel reform for the uplift of the women, the PM said that the government is bringing a programme to give the deserving women a buffalo and three goats to each of them. In addition, the government will give interest-free loans to 80,000 individuals every month. Also, the government would award 50,000 scholarships to deserving students each year.

The premier also announced to open shelter homes across all the country for the homeless people. “There are thousands of people who are homeless and depend on the subsistence of their daily toil. Many times, they are unable to find work and hence sleep without any food. These people who come from small towns do not have places to sleep. We will provide them with shelter homes, where they will have free food and a place to sleep. So far the government has made 180 shelter homes. It is our target that there is no place left in Pakistan where these poor people have to sleep on roads.”

Another big announcement that the PM made was the state provision of lawyers to the people who cannot afford one.

About health, the PM said that the government would provide health cards to another six million families. Each health card would enable them to claim the health remedy worth Rs720,000.

In the education sector, the PM repeated his oft-quoted plan to provide one standard of education, besides suggesting a concept of penalizing those government teachers who do not turn up for lectures at school. He suggested such teachers should be replaced with their more scrupulous counterparts.

Then the PM congratulated Inspector General of Punjab Shafqat Dastgir and directed him to nab big criminals.

In the end, he congratulated Sania Nishtar on arranging such a programme that provided opportunities for the women.

As this high profile ceremony was taking place in Layyah, the PTI district president was barred from entering the ceremony. Before this ceremony, the disgruntled PTI leaders staged a demonstration in Layyah, protesting that the PM has forgotten his workers. They said during party reorganization diehard workers were not considered.
