In an important development, the Sindh cabinet on Monday approved granting of ownership rights to the residents of Gharibo Makan Housing Society in Larkana free of cost, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who was chairing the meeting, said the decision had been taken on the directives of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who wanted to grant ownership rights to the dwellers of katchi abadis across the province. “These rights will also be given to the residents of katchi abadis in Karachi,” he announced.
It was late prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who had laid the foundation of the Gharibo Makan katchi abadi in Larkana in 1976.
