Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday launched the issuance of Letter of Administration Succession Certificate, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Speaking at the launching ceremony in Islamabad, he said the state of Medina is a role model for Muslims since it made the lives of ordinary people easier. “Caliphs would spend the state money on people’s welfare and there was justice everywhere,” he added.

He said overseas Pakistanis are an asset and with this law, the overseas Pakistanis can be benefitted.

The PM said previously it took years to get a simple Letter of Administration or Succession Certificate. Now it will take only 15 days.

It is pertinent to note that the Law Ministry has devised a mechanism to establish Succession Facilitation Units in collaboration with the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for the issuance of letters of administration and succession certificates within 15 days of initiation of the application by the legal heirs of the deceased.

With the inauguration, NADRA will use biometric authentication to issue Succession Certificates and Letters of Administration for the first time in Pakistan.

Imran Khan said encroachment groups have occupied lands in Pakistan and there are cases pending in courts.

The federal government last year enacted The Letters of Administration and Succession Certificates Act, 2020.

Previously all the legal heirs had to be physically present at the courts in Pakistan but now even if legal heirs are absent, the letters of administration succession certificate and succession certificates will be issued.
