The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday granted protective bail to TikToker Rajab Ali Butt, who had been caught in a controversy for playing music during prayers in Karachi, until January 28, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Earlier, the TikToker had turned to the Lahore High Court to avoid police arrest.
Butt was concerned that he might be arrested before he could attend court proceedings.
His petition was admitted, with Justice Farooq Haider ruling in his favour and ensuring temporary protection from arrest.
It is worth mentioning here that a case had been registered against YouTuber at Hyderi Police Station in Karachi for allegedly creating content that offends religious sentiments.
The complaint accused the YouTuber of violating Islamic values. Riaz Ali, the complainant’s lawyer, stated, "The court issued an order to the police to arrest Butt.”
Ali added, "This case will serve as an example to deter others from disrespecting Islamic values in the future."
