Pakistan posts trade deficit of $2.47b during Dec 2024

Pakistan recorded trade deficit worth $2.47 billion which is 37 percent more as compared to the data of previous fiscal year 2023 when trade deficit was $11.2 billion with 0.40 increase during first six months of current fiscal year, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

According to data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), during the month of December 2024 Pakistan registered 3 percent increase in annual exports.

During the month of December, Pakistan exported goods worth $2.9 billion, while import bill was increased by 20 percent on MoM basis and 16 percent on YoY basis.

In December 2024 Pakistan import bill reached to $5.4 billion. During first six months of current fiscal year Pakistan imported goods valuing $14.98 billion which is 11 percent more with the figures of same period of previous fiscal year.

In first six month of current fiscal year Pakistan import bill reached to $26.17 billion with 7 percent increase.

The PBS report stated that in first six months of current fiscal year Pakistan trade deficit touched to $11.2 billion which is 0.40 percent more as compared with the same period of previous fiscal year.
