At least four people died on the first day of Eidul Azha and another five sustained injuries in a collision between two boats at Raghagan Dam in Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, locals told the media that the boats were overloaded and rowing by some inexperienced captains.
The locals said more than 10 people were onboard the boats when the tragedy took place, claiming four lives. The rescue operation was underway to found the missing people.
Bajaur district is a part of the Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province in Pakistan. Until 2018, Bajaur was an agency of the Federally Administered area (Fata).
Raghagan Dam is a concrete gravity dam 13km East of Khaar town, Bajaur District. The dam has a height 52 of feet and a length of 200 feet.
