Federal Minister for Law Azam Nazir Tarar hinted at the imprisonment of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan for 14 years for making the Cypher public.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Law Minister said making public any official secret document is a crime and the former Prime Minister can be punished for 14 years in this case.
Azam Nazir Tarar said the matter of cypher is an open-and-shut case and the decision to convert the inquiry into a criminal action has to be taken by the FIA.
The law minister said that the cypher cannot be made public and shared with anyone but the PTI Chairman took the cypher into his custody, waved it before the general masses in the rally and did not return it to the concerned institution.
He further said that the cypher case was adjourned due to the stay order of the Lahore High Court (LHC). He said PTI Chairman has now been called by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on July 25.
