With the same film "Bad Newz," Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, who wowed everyone with his flawlessly fluid motions in the Punjabi dance number "Tauba Tauba," also achieved his best-ever Box Office opening.
Bad Newz, the much awaited romantic comedy from Dharma Productions, which co-stars Vicky Kaushal with Ammy Virk and Triptii Dimri, finally debuted in theaters on Friday. It brought in a total of INR8.62 crore at the box office.
The movie's first-day box office receipts have surpassed those of Kaushal's previous successful release, "Uri: The Surgical Strike" (2019), making it the highest opening of his nine-year career to date.
Notably, ticket sales on the first day of release for Aditya Dhar's military action drama brought in INR8.2 crores.
Some of his best cinematic debuts are the Alia Bhatt picture "Raazi," the Sara Ali Khan feature "Zara Hatke Zara Bachke," and the biographical "Sam Bahadur," which is about Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw.
In the spiritual follow-up to 2019's "Good Newwz," Kaushal co-stars with Ammy Virk, a rising talent in Punjabi cinema, and Triptii Dimri, a rising star, in "Bad Newz," a co-production of Dharma Productions and Amazon Prime, alongside Neha Dhupia.
When the Anand Tiwari-directed romantic comedy film debuted on July 19, both reviewers and viewers had differing opinions.
