The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) District Administration has issued a notification to enforce Section 144 to curb profiteering and hoarding on the shortage of oxygen supply and related equipment to coronavirus confirmed positive patients in the capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the notification, in view of the increasing number of COVID-19 patients in Islamabad, it is necessary to take precautionary measures to protect the citizens.
According to the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Departments, suppliers are charging unfair prices on oxygen cylinders and related devices.
As a result, there is a severe shortage of oxygen gas to meet the needs of COVID-19 patients.
The notification said the city would ban the storage and profiteering of oxygen cylinders, regulators, concentrators, pulse oximeters, and canola devices.
The order will come into force immediately and will last for 60 days.
