Pakistani students studying in China, who had come back to Pakistan following the outbreak of the coronavirus there, have now started returning to their universities to pursue their academic careers, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told media on Tuesday that in this connection 90 students returned to China onboard a special chartered plane.
He informed that senior officials of the ministry and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) saw off the Pakistani students at the airport.
The spokesman further said that Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto had raised the issue of the return of Pakistani students to China in his meetings with the state counsellor and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on May 22, 2022. “Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education, HEC and Pakistan’s mission in China are playing an important part in making the return of these students possible,” he elaborated.
The spokesman said that the government of Pakistan had thanked the Chinese government for making this happen.
