Govt introduces 'National Economy Revival Plan' with endorsement of Army Chief

The federal government introduced a comprehensive "National Economy Revival Plan" which is also endorsed by the Pak Army Chief General Asim Munir on Tuesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the plan was unveiled in the first meeting of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) established to remove obstacles in the way of foreign investment under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, Chief Ministers, Federal and Provincial Ministers and high officials also participated in the SIFC meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, COAS Gen Asim Munir assured the meeting that the Pakistan Army fully supports the efforts of the government to implement the plan for economic recovery and to help it regain its rightful place in the world and the socio-economic well-being of Pakistan.
The government acknowledged under its "National Economy Revival Plan" that Pakistan's real potential in sectors such as agriculture, livestock, minerals, mining, information technology, energy and agricultural production will be utilized.
The plan will promote the concept of 'one government' and 'collective government' to remove all barriers to investment and business activities.
About the functions of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), this is promised that it will speed up the implementation of the projects which will act as a 'single window' facility for facilitating investors and investments.
The economic revival plan will also introduce a collaborative approach between the federal and provincial governments and reduce lengthy and delaying procedures which are hurdles in the investments and implementation of the projects.
Furthermore, timely decision-making regarding investments and projects will be ensured while implementation of projects with clear timelines will be ensured.
Addressing the meeting, the PM recalled that his government inherited an economy on the brink of collapse, which is being brought out of crises and brought back to construction and development through difficult and courageous decisions.
The Prime Minister said that there are huge challenges ahead of the government so it has decided to adopt a partnership approach in the federation and provinces for effective implementation by adopting collective thinking.
He said that investors will be given top priority and there is a hope that the expected investment will create new employment opportunities in the country.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said that it is the duty of the rulers and the right of Pakistan and its people to have economic development and prosperity.
