Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf dissolved the provincial assemblies just to create a fuss in the country, reported the 24newsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media in London on Tuesday after having a detailed discussion with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif on the current political situation of the country, he said that the general elections are required by the constitution to be held in October. The elections will be held at a time in October or November of the current year, he added.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that the provincial assemblies were dissolved to spread chaos in the country.
Abbasi said that a “national dialogue” is the only way to pull the country out of a myriad of crises and the PTI chairman should be a part of this dialogue.
He suggested the government should announce a national dialogue stressing that it is the need of the hour.
The senior leader of PML-N Abbasi clarified that he has no differences with PML-N or Nawaz Sharif.
However, I have told Mian Sahib that when you change the leadership, it is not possible for me to stay in any position of the party,” he remarked.
Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif invited Abbasi to visit London in order to remove his reservations.
