The Olympic Day Men's and Women's Weightlifting Tournament is set to kick off at Railway Stadium, promising an exciting display of strength and skill from national and provincial athletes.
The competition, organized by the Pakistan Weightlifting Federation and Pakistan Railway Sports Board, will commence with the men's event starting today at 5:00 PM.
More than sixty male and female weightlifters from across Pakistan will participate in this prestigious event, aiming to demonstrate their prowess in various weight categories. The women's competition is scheduled to take place tomorrow at the same time.
Key figures from the weightlifting community will grace the event, including Samiullah Khan Gandapur, President of Pakistan Railway Sports Board, and Hamdan Nazir, Vice President of Pakistan Railway Sports Board. Also present will be Hafiz Imran Butt, President of Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, and Amjad Amin Butt, Vice President of Pakistan Weightlifting Federation, along with renowned figures like Aqeel Javed Butt and Qaiser Iftikhar, both international weightlifters, and Arshad Sattar Rahi, an international coach.
The competition will be officiated by Abdul Khaliq Khan, Muhammad Asghar Ali, and Muhammad Zahoor, all international referees, ensuring fair play and adherence to international standards.
Medals and certificates will be awarded to the winners, recognizing their outstanding performances in this prestigious tournament.
