Hearing of petitions against an amendment to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) was adjourned on Monday till April 12 by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) without any progress, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petitions including those of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists (PFUJ).
Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan did not appear before the IHC for having a busy schedule in the Supreme Court.
Deputy Attorney General Syed Tayyab Shah appeared in the court on behalf of the federal government and sought some time for the submission of a reply.
The IHC granted him more time for the submission of a reply and adjourned the hearing till April 12.
