The Sindh High Court has sought arguments on the admissibility of a petition against keeping hens at home, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

In a written order released on Thursday, the court also sought reply from Cantonment Board Clifton, Deputy Attorney General and others by April 23.

The text of the written order says the petitioner claimed that she is a resident of DHA Phase I and the position of the petitioner is that the neighbours keep birds and chickens in their home, which creates noise pollution.

The applicant and other neighbours are facing problems due to crying hens and in this regard a complaint has been made to the Cantonment Board Clifton but no action has been taken.

The petitioner did not state any law requiring NOC for keeping birds and chickens at home, the court remarked in the order.

However, sections 181 and 283 of the Cantonment Act deal with public nuisance, the court said.

The said sections are related to zoo or mass keeping of animals, the court wrote in order.
