Custom authorities Friday foiled a bid of exporting smuggled generators worth millions of rupees, reported 24News HD TV channel.
The industrial generators were being exported to Dubai from Prem Nagar Dry Port, Lahore. The authorities raided the dry port and confiscated the smuggled generators. According to the customs authorities, the generators are worth Rs30 million. The raid took place on the orders of Director Custom Intelligence Asad Raza Rizvi and it was led by Additional Director Hasan Fareed and Taimur Kamal Malik. Superintendent Zulfiqar Ali Dogar, Inspector Tipu Sultan and Gulzar Bhatti were part of the raiding team.
An exporter namely Akram brought the smuggled generators to the dry port. Further investigations are underway.
