Police raided the home of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Alamgir Khan in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area of Karachi late Friday night, prompting the party’s local leadership to rush to his home to know the reasons for the police action, reported 24NwsHD TV channel on Saturday.

A large contingent of police laid siege to Alamgir’s home, only to later return without making any arrest.

PTI leaders Bilal Ghaffar, Arsalan Taj, Raja Azhar and others reached Alamgir’s home and condemned the raid in strongest possible terms.

Calling the Sindh Police ‘jiyala police’, they said that the Force was acting like a slave of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

It was unfortunate, they added, that the police was carrying out raids on PTI leaders’ homes without first registering cases against them.

They went on to say that all this was being done on the orders of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

PTI leaders regretted that even warrants were not shown before the arrests.

They said that the party’s high command was in consultations with the legal experts over the situation, and anytime it could give call to the workers for the protest.

It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI leaders have been facing the wrath of the Sindh government for quite some time now as Leader of the Opposition in the provincial assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh has been booked in a number of cases.

Only yesterday, on May 20, 2022, 24News reported that the Islamabad High Court had granted ‘protective bail’ to the PTI leader who feared arrest by Sindh Police
