Three people drowned in a water pond while taking a bath in Tehsil Samahni of Bhimber District in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Sunday, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the local administration, the deceased identified as Mazhar Javaid, Abdul Sattar, and Hanan Irshad were friends and drowned while bathing in Sadhery waterfall (pond) in Samahni.
The locals came to know after finding their clothes lying at the bank of the Nullah. Seeing the clothes, the locals searched for the youth along with the rescue 1122 team and recovered the bodies.
Arshad and Abdul Sattar belonged to Lahore and went to Samahni to see his friend Mahzar in Bhimber.
The dead bodies have been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Samahni.
Bhimber Deputy Commissioner Arshad Mehmood Jaral said that a case has been registered and the police have started an investigation.
