The Met Office has issued an alert as the second spell of the heatwave in Punjab and Sindh started today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
The office has said that day temperatures in these two provinces will remain four to six degrees above average from May 21 to May 23, while six to eight degrees above average between May 23 and May 27.
Similarly, the department has forecast four to six degrees above average temperatures for Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan from May 21 to May 27.
Dry and extremely hot weather forecast for country
On the other hand, the Met Office has predicted that the weather will remain dry and extremely hot in most parts of the country during the next 24 hours.
It has said that the weather will remain dry and hot in Islamabad and its outskirts. However, there are chances of strong winds blowing later in the afternoon, the department has said.
Similarly, hot and dry weather has been predicted for most parts of KP, barring Swat, Malakand and Kohistan where thundershowers are expected.
