In order to discuss the appointment of Supreme Court (SC) judges, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Qazi Faez Isa on Monday convened the Judicial Commission meeting on June 7, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Quoting its sources, the channel reported that the names of nine judges would come under discussion at the meeting to fill three vacant seats of judges in the apex court.
They disclosed that the names of six judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC), including that of the high court chief justice, would be considered at the meeting.
Similarly, sources revealed that three names from the Sindh High Court (SHC) would also be considered at the meeting, including that of Chief Justice Aqeel Abbasi.
Right now, out of a total of 17 seats in the SC, three are vacant.
