The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has received a request from Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) for hiking the electricity tariff by Rs3.49 per unit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The CPPA sought the increase in power tariff on account of monthly fuel adjustment charges for the month of April.
The Nepra set May 30 for hearing the CPPA request. After approval in tariff, the consumer would have to ace an additional burden of Rs35 billion.
This raise in the power rate will not imply to K-electric consumers.
It may be mentioned here that the Nepra had hiked the electricity price by Rs2.84 per unit for the month of march under fuel adjustment charges and which were added to monthly bills of March 2024.
