Prado with 67 e-challans seized in Lahore

Tightening the cordon against e-challan defaulters for violating traffic rules, authorities caught a Prado vehicle with 67 e-challan violations.


The car driver immediately paid a fine of 33,300 rupees on the spot, 24News HD TV Channel reported on Monday.


Lahore's Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Amara Athar said a crackdown is also underway against those who tamper with vehicle number plates to avoid e-challan. There is also an order to take action against those who black out the number plates of the vehicle and those who obscure the numbers.


The Lahore CTO said there are police teams on important highways including Mall Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Gulbarg, Ferozepur Road, Wahdat Road.


She said driving license, character certificate, verification and other 14 police services and facilities will not be available for the vehicle defaulters.


CTO Amara Athar said driving license issuance management system has been integrated in Safe City Punjab and police service centers.


Lahore CTO Amara Athar further said e-challans are being issued for various violations including traffic signal, lane line, smoke emission, one-way traffic.


She said citizens have to respect traffic rules for orderly traffic as traffic load management, monitoring and surveillance are being ensured with the help of cameras.
