Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif Monday undertook a comprehensive tour of the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) headquarters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


During her visit, the Chief Minister was thoroughly briefed on the agency's operations and its pivotal role in crime scene analysis across Pakistan.


Dr. Muhammad Amjad, Director General of PFSA, highlighted the agency's multifaceted functions, emphasizing its 14-discipline forensic testing and satellite-based crime scene monitoring.


In response, Chief Minister Maryam issued directives to integrate forensic training labs with both private and public universities, ensuring practical training and internship opportunities for forensic science students.


Chief Minister Maryam ordered the activation of an evidence centre in Dera Ghazi Khan and mandated the centralization of departmental labs under the Punjab Forensic Science Agency Development Authority (PAFDA). She also called for the swift completion and operationalization of the PAFDA project.


The Chief Minister's inspection included a detailed review of the automated fingerprint system, polygraph examination procedures, and DNA serology's chromosome marking methods.


The genetic analyzer machine also underwent scrutiny to ensure its efficacy in advancing forensic investigations.
