Majlis Wahdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM) Sunday announced its support for Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate Ch Aslam Gill in NA-133 Lahore by-elections.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the MWM and PPP delegations met at the Township Imambargah Kashana Abbas and addressed a joint press conference.
The PPP delegation was comprised of Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nayyar Bukhari, Chaudhry Muhammad Aslam Gill, Hassan Murtaza, Tariq Arain, Farooq Awan, Malik Jamshed Shahbaz and Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi while Syed Hassan Kazmi, Syed Khurram Abbas Naqvi, Hussain Tirmizi, Asad Naqvi and Aqrar Hussain Malik represented the MWM in the meeting.
Talking to the media, the MWM leaders announced that they wanted to be with the PPP in terms of votes and in all other ways.
The MWM leaders demanded the PPP on this occasion that it should also give importance to the Majlis like had already given Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
The MWM leaders assured the PPP leaders that they would support PPP with all sincerity in the Lahore by-elections and the results of which they would also see on polling day on December 5.
On this occasion, the PPP delegation said that after Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, distances and misunderstandings had been increased between both the parties which should be reduced.
