An anti-corruption court in Lahore on Monday rejected the bail petition of former Punjab chief minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in the case of the alleged illegal recruitment of Muhammad Khan Bhatti in the Punjab Assembly as the principal secretary.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, during the hearing, the prosecution requested the court to reject the petition.
It, on the occasion, also submitted to the court the case’s record.
Advocate Amir Saeed Ran, who represented the PTI president in the case, argued that his client was implicated in the case on political grounds.
Four days ago, on November 16, a court extended the physical remand of former Punjab chief minister and PTI President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi in an illegal appointment case for 14 days.
