In compliance with the directives issued by the Islamabad High Court, the special court has adjourned the hearing of the cipher case registered under the Official Secrets Act against former premier Imran Khan and ex-foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi until November 23, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Special Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain on Tuesday heard the case.
But the court adjourned the hearing when it was informed that the IHC yesterday extended the stay it had granted in the jail trial of the cipher case until Tuesday (today).
The high court will take up an intra-court appeal filed by former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan against his jail trial in the cipher case today.
During yesterday’s hearing, a two-judge bench comprising Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Rafat Imtiaz sought the appointment record of the judge conducting the trial of former prime minister Imran Khan under the Official Secrets Act.
The court also ordered IHC registrar to present the letter written by Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain to the IHC administration for permission to conduct the ex-PM’s trial in jail.
