Thus, earning his title for being one of the most talented and versatile actors in the industry right now. His characters in ‘Muqaddar’, ‘Log Kya Kahenge’, and ‘Gustakh’ are making a lasting impact on viewers all over the world and the hit drama-series have perpetuated ratings through the roof!
We got a chance to sit with the dynamic actor himself to get answers to some of our most pressing questions:
Playing three diverse characters, how do you switch between roles seamlessly?
It’s a matter of destiny, honestly that I get to be a part of so many different dramas and have the opportunity of playing such versatile characters. I can’t say it’s easy to be switching between three dramas. All three roles have different dimensions and stories. I suppose years of practice and a great team help a lot too. One thing I’ve always been sure of is to do research about each character prior to my shoots. I suppose that really helps too.
Which character can you relate to most?
I think Saad from ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ is very relatable for me at least. Think about it, who wouldn’t want to step up and be beside their friends especially after seeing them struggle.
Being close friends with Aijazz Aslam, what is it like working on set together again?
It’s always fun working with Aijazz and having him on the set. We’ve done a lot of drama serials together. So many that I can hardly keep count. I think having Aijazz as part of the drama playing the character of my friend made it more realistic for me, and perhaps for the audience too.
How does it feel to have ratings of your dramas go through the roof?
It feels good! People are really liking ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ and it’s getting amazing ratings. Not just that, they are watching it a lot on YouTube as well. People are also watching ‘Muqaddar’ a lot and my game show as well. Grateful that those ratings are also really good. So, of course when you work hard and you are appreciated it - and the ratings say reinforce the same, it obviously feels really great.
Which storyline has really made a lasting impact on you?
That’s a tough question. I think ‘Gustakh’, ‘Muqaddar’, and ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ all have their own stories. All three narratives have qualities that everyone will remember and should remember.
Tell us more about what inspired you to take on a role such as Sardar Saif in Muqaddar?
‘Muqaddar’ has continuously gotten good ratings. I think there’s only one episode that we didn’t get ratings for. There’s a lot of feedback coming for that show from all over the world, wherever people are watching it. My character Sardar Saif if really strong, has a lot of diversity and it was a lot of fun to play him.
In reality, when I was taking this role in ‘Muqaddar’, I really wanted to dedicate it to Shafi Mohammad Shah and now that I have a chance I want to say that the character was developed inspired by him and based on him.
Juggling three completely different characters, what are some of the challenges you have faced for each role?
It was difficult shooting for all three characters simultaneously, because the time period was the same. For ‘Muqaddar’ I had to gain a bit of weight so that was a little bit of a problem for my role in ‘Gustakh’ and ‘Log Kya Kahenge’ because it was all done in one spell and I had finished ‘Gustakh’ right in the middle of ‘Muqaddar’.
So, in the middle of ‘Log Kya Kahenge’, we stopped shooting. Then the lockdown happened. So, there was a little bit of weight fluctuation between these roles, my mood might have varied too but nonetheless really enjoyed playing these characters.
