Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit aka Peshawar BRT, a modern transportation system in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital, has made all the arrangements for its relaunching from October 25 (Sunday), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The TV channel reported that Peshawar BRT administration has commenced the sale of ZU Cards for the citizens.

In a tweet, TransPeshawar said, “People can get and recharge their ZU cards from any Station of BRT. Following Covid-19 SOP`s are mandatory for all.” It has been reported that around 0.4m ZU Cards have been sold out.
TransPeshawar BRT main 27.5 km main track has 32 stations on a dedicated lane for exclusive use by buses, while the other second part consists of a network of feeder routes in which buses can enter and exit the system to travel on city streets. It is pertinent to note that Prime Minister Imran Khan inaugurated on August 13, 2020.
BRT service was suspended after a fourth vehicle caught fire on September 17.
Mohammad Umar Khan, a spokesman for TransPeshawar that runs the buses, said the fire erupted at the back of a BRT bus on the Hayatabad route.
All passengers were safely evacuated and the company will have all the buses inspected again by the manufacturer before they are put back on the route. The safety of passengers is their top priority and the bus service will be restored very soon. The suspension is temporary, he added.
According to the spokesman, the bus service will be restored after each vehicle is technically cleared by the company.
Rescue 1122 in a statement said that the bus caught fire near Sunday Bazaar in the Hayatabad area of the city.
