Ahead of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s verdict on Toshakhana reference against PTI Chairman Imran Khan today, an audio tape of former defence minister and PTI leader Pervaiz Khattak surfaced on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the audio tape, the former defence minister is advising all friendly MNAs, MPAs and PTI workers to listen to the Toshakhana verdict today. If the verdict comes against the PTI, then we will hold a forceful protest in all districts. It’s a serious matter. The party workers should block the roads to tell the people that the Tehreek-i-Insaf is a party,’ the PTI leader from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was urging the party activists.
If ECP gives decision on political grounds, it will worsen situation: Rashid
Meanwhile, former interior minister and Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has warned that if the ECP verdict in the Toshakhana reference was based on political grounds it would aggravate the situation.
In his tweet, Rashid wrote: “If the Election Commission gives a decision on political grounds, the situation will become worse. The British prime minister surrendered to inflation in 45 days, whereas 77 ministers in Pakistan are causing more inflation. The government is on ventilator and the PDM is in coma. The ruling junta has closed cases against itself while it has triggered inflation and sewn an economic shroud for the poor.
