Mohsin Naqvi off to Dubai to attend ICC board meeting
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi left on Monday for Dubai to take part in ICC board meeting, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi is expected to discuss Pakistan’s preparations for hosting the 2025 Champions Trophy and hold talks with Indian Cricket Board officials.
Pakistan’s Chief Operating Officer, Salman Naseer has represented the country in ICC meetings since October 19, and today’s final session is critical for Pakistan’s hosting role.
Mohsin Naqvi will update the ICC on the renovation efforts at Qaddafi Stadium, Karachi’s National Bank Cricket Arena, and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. ICC delegations have already expressed satisfaction with the progress, and the tournament’s budget has been approved, solidifying Pakistan’s readiness.
The ICC Champions Trophy will occur from February 19 to March 9, 2025, with matches in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Lahore will host seven games, including the final, while Karachi and Rawalpindi will also stage key fixtures, ensuring an exciting tournament for cricket fans.
Qaddafi Stadium visit
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited Qaddafi Stadium Lahore to review progress on up-gradation and construction work.
During his visit, the PCB Chairman examined steel fixing work on different floors of the stadium. He directed to further expedite the work.
On this occasion, he directed concerned officials to ensure quality in on-going construction and renovation work of the stadium.
Mohsin Naqvi said that up-gradation work of the stadium should be completed before holding ICC Champions Trophy matches and complete this mega project timely.
He said that he is optimistic about timely completion of this project due to tireless efforts of entire PCB team.
