Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer Siraj Ul Haq Wednesday emphasized the need for citizens to stand up for their rights and protect the interests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the 250m people of the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his address during the Peshawar sit-in, Siraj ul Haq raised concerns about the legitimacy of assembly members, alleging that many of them attain their seats not through the votes of the people but through support from foreign powers.
Haq also expressed the sentiment that the people of Pakistan have yet to witness a system based on the Quran in the 76 years since the country's inception.

Siraj Ul Haq alleged that many politicians, judges, and generals maintain their wealth and properties in foreign countries, which he deemed detrimental to the nation's interests.
JI Ameer accused some politicians of being "economic terrorists" who have held the country hostage through corrupt practices.
He emphasized the need for accountability, stating that corrupt individuals often evade questions about their wealth but openly display victory signs when leaving the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Haq also called for a system that prioritizes the welfare of the Pakistani people and criticized the influence of foreign powers on the country's political landscape. He urged citizens to unite and work towards a more just and transparent system.
