Federal Urdu University of Karachi has been shut down again in view of the threat of disturbances, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.

In order to maintain law and order situation in the university, a heavy police contingent has been deputed around Abdul Haq Campus.

The university had to be closed after hostilities between two student organisations created the possibility of clashes on the campus.

A statement from the university administration named Anjuman-e-Tulaba Islam and Imamia Students Organisation as the two organisations involved, and said that the university was shut down as a precautionary measure.
